Cereset® May Help Kids Help Their Own Brain with Behavioral or Mental Health Issues
Michael*, a 7th grader and Cereset® client, was diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in the second grade. Michael was an energetic, fun and happy kid, however testing and assessments indicated he was below his Education level for his IQ. His parents noticed he was behind in reading and math for his grade level and was beginning to struggle with impulse control. “He couldn’t pause and make a good choice when presented with a tempting option,” said his mother Ann*. “I remember him dumping an entire bottle of glitter all over a room.” Michael also had issues with spatial awareness. He was always bumping into things and spilling drinks and food. Constantly full of energy, he would fidget, tap or need to move.
Michael is not alone. Nearly 1 out of 7 U.S. children have one or more treatable mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety or ADHD. According to the American Psychological Association, the pandemic caused many challenges for youth in the United States, leading to a mental health crisis, however children and teens have been suffering for much longer. ADHD diagnoses have specifically been on the rise for the past several years, and it appears there’s been an additional increase since the pandemic began. A recent analysis from the health records company Epic found about 0.4% of the millions of U.S. patients in its database were diagnosed with ADHD in 2019. That number increased to 0.6% in 2022.
The typical treatment for behavioral and other mental health issues includes medications to reduce symptoms. However, for some kids, medications may lead to a loss of appetite, sleep issues, and can dull their emotions. Originally Michael’s parents tried the leading prescription medication for ADHD. This helped improve his schoolwork and hyperactivity, but also seemed to make him more aggressive, which became very worrisome. After a couple years, Michael no longer liked the way the medication made him feel. Given the side effects, his parents took him off the medication and instead focused on sports and increased his physical activity.
While Michael has managed his ADHD without medication for the past three years, he started getting into some trouble at school. Again, he was acting on impulse, reacting to situations without considering the impact on others or the consequences. He, along with his parents, decided to try a wellness technology called Cereset. The BrainEcho® neuromodulation technology works with clients of all ages to help them harmonize & balance their own brain. A brain in harmony may help to minimize the symptoms of ADHD as well as other issues, such as insomnia, lack of energy, stress and anxiety. Cereset enables the brain to fully relax and reset itself to its natural state of harmony, from the inside out. There is no outside intervention, stimulus, or medication of any kind – the brain does its own work while one may nap or relax quietly in a comfortable zero-gravity chair.
After completing his Cereset® sessions, Michael expressed he can sleep better, is now able to pause before making bad choices to avoid getting into trouble and received 100% on his math and science tests. He also recently qualified for a county wide track meet and beat his best time in the 800-meter race. “We were searching for holistic alternatives to help Michael manage his ADHD, rather than relying on medication to relieve his symptoms,” said Ann. “We were thrilled with the difference we saw in him after he completed his sessions. We were both surprised when Michael became more verbal and was able to express his feelings even without prompting after Cereset. We also notice he hardly ever spills anything anymore. Michael is still Michael, but he struggles less now. “
